Mike is an English composer, arranger and conductor. Having originally started out as a pianist and drummer, he then focused on composition and studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance.
He has since gone on to compose soundtracks for TV, film and a variety of other media, working from his studio in Oxfordshire. Recent work includes composing the score for the upcoming feature documentary Crazy Cat Lady, writing additional music for the 18th series of the BBC One series Who Do You Think You Are?, and providing the epic orchestral score for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Flight at the new Lionsgate Entertainment World theme park in China. For television, he has assisted BAFTA and Emmy-nominated composer Paul Leonard-Morgan on his score for Dynasty on The CW/Netflix, and also co-composed seasons 1-3 of the hit Amazon Prime series The Grand Tour. He has scored a number of short films, including Tinned Pears, Absent, Man Of The Land and the animated short Mr. Plastimime, directed by Oscar-winning director Daniel Greaves. Alongside his TV and film work, Mike has scored an array of trailers & commercials. In 2019, he was selected as one of 12 composers to participate in the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in LA.
Mike writes production music for Zone Music, Soho Production Music and Universal Production Music, through which he has had tracks used in various productions worldwide by the BBC, ITV, Fox, CNN and Marvel Studios.
As well as composing, Mike works as an orchestrator and conductor. As conductor he has worked with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Concert Orchestra and BBC Big Band. TV & film orchestration credits include Meerkat Manor: Rise of the Dynasty for BBC America/AMC, as well as the hit Netflix film Outlaw King (directed by David Mackenzie and starring Chris Pine).
